Who is responsible for your information

Information we collect

We collect the account information you provide, such as your name, email address, sign-in details, and email preferences. We also store assessment answers and progress, completed profile results, assessment-access credits, purchase records, invitation records, and timestamps connected with those activities.

Stripe processes payment-card information. Marktype receives payment and transaction details needed to confirm a purchase, but does not store your full card number. Clerk supports account authentication and email verification.

How we use it

We use personal information to create and secure your account, save assessment progress, calculate and deliver your profile, confirm purchases, grant assessment access, provide customer support, prevent misuse, maintain the service, and send essential account or purchase messages.

If you choose to receive Marktype updates, we may also use your email address for those messages. You can change that preference in your account.

Assessment experience and improvement

We record which assessment questions are displayed and their order, assessment openings and returns, and estimated active time while the page is visible and focused. Activity timing pauses after a minute without interaction. We use these records alongside saved assessment progress to understand completion and improve the assessment experience. These records are linked to your account for operation and deletion; administrator reporting uses grouped results.

Profile feedback and improvement

When your completed profile is displayed, we record the first display time and the profile content and assessment versions. If you share optional feedback, we store your ratings and comments linked to that profile and account. You can return to edit your response. We use this information to review profile clarity, recognition, and perceived usefulness and to guide improvements.

You may also choose to share an age range when giving feedback. We do not ask for your date of birth. You can leave the age question blank, choose “Prefer not to say,” or change or remove your selection when editing feedback. We use age ranges to compare feedback across age groups in internal summary reporting, with rating breakdowns withheld when fewer than five different people answer. Age information does not change assessment scoring or your profile result.

If optional emails are enabled, we may send one feedback invitation about 24 hours after the first display. Submitting feedback or turning off optional emails cancels a queued invitation where it has not already been sent. Our email provider supplies scheduling and delivery status. Summary reporting is restricted to the super administrator and omits account names and email addresses. Feedback follows the account retention and deletion choices described here.

How information is shared

We share information with service providers only as needed to operate Marktype—for example, Clerk for authentication, Stripe for payments, and hosting and email infrastructure providers. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the service or its users, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal information or use assessment answers for third-party advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep account, assessment, and profile information while your account is active so you can return to your result. We keep transaction and security records as reasonably needed for accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and legal obligations. If you request deletion, we remove or de-identify eligible information and retain only what we must keep for those limited purposes.

Your choices

You may ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You may also change optional email preferences in your account. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Security and age

We use technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect your information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Marktype is intended for people age 16 or older in the United States.
